Corvette ZR1 - SuperCar

America has a SuperCar, or at least this is what Chevrolet general manager Ed Peper is saying (thinking) after showing to the public the new Corvette ZR1 at the Detroit Auto Show. Corvette is deep inside he blood of every American that needs speed and looks, but the we ZR1 is really business. It comes with a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine that sports 620 hp and a 823 NM (595 lb/ft) torque, being able to hit the 200mph speed, while the speedometer has a 220 mph on it.
Corvette’s ZR1 basic stats include a manual six-speed gearbox (race hardened), a high capacity dual-disc clutch or larger brake calipers. The design is great, with a raised carbon-fiber hood and carbon fiber panels prominent inside on the fenders, the roof and front splitter. Consider 19-inch or 20-inch chrome wheels and a dark color for the American SuperCar and it’s looking furious.

As a joint project of Mallet Cars of Berea, Ohio and Ugur Sahin Design from Gorinchem, Netherlands, the very powerful Corvette has just gotten a bit better.

The Team of USD B.V. had promising dreams for the Corvette C3. They already knew the capabilities of the favored supercar, which has a supercharger-twin turbo 7-liter V8 engine. But they wanted to create something that not had power in the inside, but it had to reflect on the outside as well. And thus they created something far more than design and style. It’s what they call Automotive Haute Couture.

2013 Corvette Stingray concept

Corvette Stingray concept, which debuted at the 2009 Chicago Auto Show and had a starring role in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, on the surface looks as though it could provide some design and powertrain influence for the next C7 Corvette. However Tom Peters, designer of both the Stingray concept as well as the new Chevy Camaro, told Jalopnik's Ray Wert "It's not the C7, but that's not to say there aren't elements here that could translate into what the C7's about." Peters took the methodology used designing the Stingray concept and applied it to both the C6 Corvette as well as the new Chevy Camaro. That's why you'll see design elements from the Stingray concept in both the C6 Corvette (like the raking in the side coveys) and the Camaro.

Taking cues from art and the exterior, GM interior designer Micah Jones built a dual-cockpit design. On the steering wheel are two spherical balls. Right side controls shared functions like entertainment, climate control and navigation. The center console screen is a dramatic and expansive display with five settings controlled by a haptic touch screen—the same five you find on the wheel—Entertainment, Air, Home (laptop mode), Nav and Race modes.

Corvette Stingray C7 R

While the Corvette Stingray Concept (a.k.a. Autobot Sideswipe) introduced at the Chicago Auto Show earlier this month sports heritage-inspired cues, its futuristic styling could also hint at the design of the next-generation model. GM made no comment on whether any of the concept would find make its way into the C7 Corvette, but there will doubtless be plenty of people willing to speculate. The gang at BadBoyVettes.com have taken it one step further and have come up with what the C7.R would look like if the Stingray went to production as-is. Using one of our live shots from the show, they've added the Corvette Racing livery, complete with the "Jake" skull mascot featured prominently on the hood. We think they did a good job, which is to be expected, since BBV helped put together the design schemes for the actual C6.R racers. In full race livery, the Stingray looks like it'd be equally adept at chasing down Gulf-liveried Aston Martins or battling giant evil robots.
